BeigeCheckWith the Beige-ometer

Terms of use

Last updated 30 October 2026

These terms cover your use of BeigeCheck, run by Ghostart Ltd. Your company’s knowledge and writing stay yours. BeigeCheck’s scores help you judge a draft, and you decide what to send. Our privacy policy explains how we handle data.

1. Who we are and these terms

BeigeCheck is a trading brand of Ghostart Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16720663, with its registered office at 64 Cambridge Avenue, New Malden, KT3 4LF (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using BeigeCheck, including through an AI tool you’ve connected to it, you agree to these terms. If you use BeigeCheck for a company, you confirm you’re allowed to accept them for that company, and “you” includes the company.

2. What BeigeCheck does

BeigeCheck holds a company’s approved facts, voice and house rules, and opens them to the AI tools the company already uses: Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft 365 Copilot, and its own systems through our API. It checks drafts with the Beige-ometer and says which sentences and claims to change. The free BeigeCheck on our homepage gives a score and three examples, without an account.

3. Accounts, workspaces and people

  • You need an account to use BeigeCheck beyond the free check. Keep your sign-in to yourself; you’re responsible for what happens under it.
  • A company’s knowledge lives in a workspace. Owners manage the workspace, its people and its settings; approvers decide on proposed changes; writers use what’s approved.
  • An owner can invite people up to the number of places the company’s plan includes, and can remove anyone. Someone who leaves loses access straight away.
  • Nothing changes a workspace’s facts, voice or rules without a person approving it, and every change is kept with who made it and when.

4. Your company’s content

Everything your company puts into BeigeCheck stays your company’s: its facts, its voice, its documents and its drafts. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide BeigeCheck to you, as our privacy policy describes. You confirm you have the right to give us what you add, and that it doesn’t break anyone else’s rights.

The changes and rewrites BeigeCheck suggests for your drafts are yours to use as you wish.

5. The AI tools you connect

Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft 365 Copilot are made by Anthropic, OpenAI and Microsoft. Your use of them is governed by your own terms with those companies, and the AI tool, not BeigeCheck, writes the text in your conversation. BeigeCheck gives it your company’s approved knowledge and checks what it writes. Its connection to BeigeCheck can read but never change your company’s knowledge.

If one of those companies changes or withdraws how its tool connects to services like ours, BeigeCheck may work differently in that tool or stop working there. That’s outside our control. Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 and Copilot are trademarks of their owners, and BeigeCheck isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.

6. Scores and suggestions

The Beige-ometer’s scores and BeigeCheck’s suggestions are an assessment of a draft, made partly by an AI model, and they can be wrong. They don’t guarantee how readers, customers or search and AI tools will respond. The claim check compares a draft with the facts your company has approved; it can’t confirm a fact your company hasn’t. Read what you send before you send it: you’re responsible for what you publish.

We improve our checks over time. When a change could move a score, we give the checks a new version, and every score shows the version that produced it.

7. Trials and allowances

  • A new company can try BeigeCheck free for 14 days, starting from its first check, with a set allowance for the whole trial.
  • The checks that use an AI model, and reading documents, use units from the company’s allowance. Each plan has a monthly allowance shared by everyone in the company, and a daily limit so one day can’t use up a month. Unused units don’t carry over.
  • When the units run out or a trial ends, the rule-based checks keep working and nothing your company has stored is affected. The AI checks resume when the allowance resets or the company moves to a paid plan.

8. Plans and payment

Paid plans, their prices and what each includes are shown when you subscribe, and you pay the price shown then. Prices exclude VAT, which we add where it applies. We’ll give at least 30 days’ notice of a price change, and it applies from your next billing period.

You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Except where the law requires, payments aren’t refundable. Larger organisations can agree separate terms with us in writing.

9. Fair use

You must not use BeigeCheck to:

  • Write or check anything unlawful, defamatory or deceptive, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
  • Pretend to be a company you don’t represent, or add knowledge you have no right to.
  • Work out how BeigeCheck’s checks are built, including by sending drafts in bulk to map what changes a score, copying or decompiling any part of the service, or building a competing product from it.
  • Try to break into, damage or overload the service, or run automated tools against it other than through our API and the connections we provide.
  • Resell BeigeCheck or give others access to it without our agreement in writing.

10. Our intellectual property

BeigeCheck, the Beige-ometer, its checks, scoring and software belong to Ghostart Ltd. We give you the right to use them while you have an account, under these terms. Nothing in these terms gives you any other rights in them.

11. Suspending or ending an account

You can close your account at any time by writing to hello@beigecheck.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or if the law requires it. Where we can, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to put things right. When an account closes, we delete its data as our privacy policy describes.

12. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Apart from that:

  • BeigeCheck is provided as it is.
  • We aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or goodwill.
  • We aren’t responsible for the AI tools you connect or what they write.
  • Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in those 12 months.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as BeigeCheck changes. We’ll email account holders about any change that matters at least 30 days before it applies. If you keep using BeigeCheck after that, the new terms apply.

14. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute about them.
